Lady Warriors excited about upcoming season
The Lady Warriors would like to improve on the fall scrimmages as they prepare for the upcoming regular season. This fall the team played schools such as St. Clare Community College, St. Clare University from Canada, Grand Rapids Community College, U of M Dearborn, and Macomb Community College. The warriors split all of the scrimmages with the exception of one tie. This fall the team learned a lot about themselves, as there were key injuries that involved two of the starters. Janna Little and Michelle Bednarski both missed action as Janna had a severe injury and Michelle had surgery to start the fall season. Now that the two girls are back and healthy, they are ready to help the warrior's softball team to a wining season and a trip to the National Championship Tournament in May!
Coach Lewis, Coach McDaniel, and Coach Hall all agree that this team will blend the talent and experience of the transfers with the youth and energy the talented freshmen bring. The combination of new players and returning players will provide the drive and hunger to be the best team they can be. Coach Lewis said of his freshman players, "We were all surprised to see the freshman girls come in and make big plays in the field, hit the ball well, pitch at a high level against tough competition, and play well behind the plate." Over all the fall season left a lot to be pleased with and excited about. The team will now spend time on getting focused and prepared to get things going in the spring. The lady warrior's softball team will kick off the season in Orlando Florida at Disney's Wide World of Sports March 1-6 facing teams from all over the United States and all levels of competition ranging from DII, DIII, and NAIA teams.

2007-2008 Women's Softball season outlook
Going into 2007-2008 softball season the expectations and goals are very high. The softball team had an exciting summer adding five players from strong Junior College programs from the area and four players from high school. Janna Little, Ashleigh Inman, and Rachel Fix all come to the program from Grand Rapids Community College and will make the team rich with talent and experience. Ashley Cooper from Macomb Community College and Michelle Bednarski from Oakland Community College round out the college transfers and both help make the team tough and focused on winning. The new freshmen coming in are Andrea Howland (Linden), Jessica Crook (Lincoln), Jessica Menendez (Mt. View Christian), and Rachel Szackis (Bishop Folley). All of these young talented players will get their chance this fall to make an impression on their new teammates and coaches. There are eight returning players from last season, Senior Loren O'Brien, three juniors Madison Smith, Amanda Crump, Hannah Caullay, four sophomores Jessica Kiser, Megan Schimmel, Emily McRoberts, and Nane' Rosolino. The returning cornerstone group of girls that are back this season all are hungry and want nothing less than a trip to National Tournament.
Coach Lewis has said, "I have worked hard for last four years to build this program up and turn it around from where things were five years ago. I finally feel as if I have given them all of the tools necessary to get back to and win a National Championship!"
Coach Lewis went on to say: "I owe a ton of gratitude and acknowledgement of our past success to the young ladies and coaches that stuck with me during a time of rebuilding and believed in the vision of what we wanted this program to grow into.
The team is also very excited to announce that they have added Jack McDaniel to the coaching staff. "Jack is one of those special people that when the opportunity came along for me to add Jack to my staff it was a no-brainer. He has been around coaching or playing softball for a long time and is going to help Terrill, myself, and the team out in many aspects of the game".
