Every summer, the UnCovered Theatre Company and Rochester College Theatre Department team up to produce the Rochester College Shakespeare Festival. Professional actors and directors from around the country come to RC’s campus to perform some of Shakespeare’s best plays. Past shows include: Macbeth, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, Godspell and As You Like It. Come out and enjoy the Bard in our lovely outdoor theatre space!

Meet the Director

CHRISTOPHER OWENS has been the Producing Artistic Director of the Virginia
Shakespeare Festival in Williamsburg since 2004 and has directed 160 professional stage
productions from coast to coast, most recently Serious Money in Houston, Red in
Richmond, Conversation With A Despicable Character in Atlanta and Edinburgh, and
Lend Me A Tenor in Columbus, GA. For VSF: The Tempest, Macbeth, Love’s Labours
Lost, The Complete History of America Abridged, The Winter’s Tale, Hamlet, The
Merchant of Venice, Julius Caesar, Antony & Cleopatra, Art and Romeo & Juliet. He has
served as Chair of the Department of Theatre, Speech & Dance at the College of William
and Mary since 2013, was trained at the Juilliard School in New York (under John
Houseman) and grad school at SMU in Dallas. Upcoming shows in the next year after
Macbeth include Dear Charlotte (a new play about the Brontë sisters) for the Alley
Theatre MFA program in Houston, Pride and Prejudice for Quill Theatre in Richmond,
Driving Miss Daisy for the State Theatre of Georgia, and a new musical with Michael
Feinstein & Bill Schermerhorn entitled The Club.
